A Focus on Civil Liberties in Medford, Massachusetts
Medford People Power is an independent organization that generally aligns itself with the values of the ACLU. By mobilizing in defense of our civil liberties, volunteers will build and strengthen local communities that affirm our American values of personal freedom, respect, equality, and solidarity, as enshrined in the Bill of Rights and our Constitution.

What We Do
Immigration
People Power worked with the Chief of Police and the Mayor to help implement written policies to keep Medford safe for immigrants.
Community Control of Public Surveillance
We are working to ensure any use of surveillance technology by the city is implemented and utilized with ongoing public input and consideration of impacts on civil rights and civil liberties.
Voting Rights
All residents of Medford should feel free to obtain and cast their ballot without fear or intimidation, and without unnecessary hurdles.
Charter Review
With the objective of diversifying political representation in Medford, we hope to reduce the number of “at large” city councilors.
